COLOR GUARD
Each fall, Pacifica’s award winning Color Guard unit (also known as the Auxiliary) takes to the football field with the marching band during half time and at competitions, and tells a story to the audience. They tell this story by taking the music being played and bringing it to visual life through dance and the use of such equipment as flags, performance rifles, and sabres.
In the spring, the group transitions into Winter Guard season – a competition team that uses their artistry to tell a new story, this time on a basketball court, using recorded music. The technique and equipment may be the same, but the ability to use and manipulate any music across any genre coupled with the much more intimate setting of a school gymnasium allows them to connect with the audience on a whole new level. Our guard placed 3rd in their class this last competitive season
Both seasons requires extreme dedication and artistry to pull off shows that can be hard and raw one moment, then soft and graceful the next. Our group of ladies and gents continue to dazzle and amaze, and Pacifica could not be more proud of them!
